Coal Country Music Released Today

Coal Country Music is released today in the US. The CD includes the Justin Townes Earle exclusive  track "Down In the Valley". Other artists on the disc include, Willie Nelson, Gillian Welch, John Prine, Bonnie Raitt, and Jason and the Scorchers.

100% of the net proceeds from Coal Country Music will go to The Alliance For Appalachia, a coalition of groups working to stop mountaintop removal mining.

The disc should be available at most stores, or you can download it Wal-Mart or Amazon.

Coal Country Music

Justin appears on the soundtrack to a new film called Coal Country. The movie is about coal mining and mountain top removal in the Appalachin Mountains. The soundtrack features Justin Townes Earle performing "Down in the Valley (Birmingham Jail)". Other artists on the disc include John Prine, Gillian Welch, Willie Nelson, and a host of others.

The CD includes liner notes by Ashley Judd and Woody Harrelson and information about the Alliance for Appalachia. All proceeds from the sale of the CD will be used to support the work of the Alliance for Appalachia and be used to stop mountaintop removal coal-mining.

The DVD and CD are scheduled to be released on November 10.
