Justin appears on the soundtrack to a new film called
Coal Country. The movie is about coal mining and mountain top removal in the Appalachin Mountains. The soundtrack features Justin Townes Earle performing "Down in the Valley (Birmingham Jail)". Other artists on the disc include John Prine, Gillian Welch, Willie Nelson, and a host of others.
The CD includes liner notes by Ashley Judd and Woody Harrelson and information about the
Alliance for Appalachia. All proceeds from the sale of the CD will be used to support the work of the Alliance for Appalachia and be used to stop mountaintop removal coal-mining.
The DVD and CD are scheduled to be released on November 10.
The album also has Justin doin Down In The Valley (Birmingham Jail).

ReplyDeleteIt actually has both the songs. Lone Pine Hill and Down In The Valley. Down In The Valley is studio and its great. I can send it to you if you havent heard it yet.
