Justin Townes Earle and Carlene Carter have been announced as headliners for the 2009 Johnny Cash Flower Pickin' Festival in Starkville, Mississippi.The festival is based on a song written and sung by Johnny Cash, a true story where he was arrested in May of 1965 by the city police for public drunkenness, but claimed he was only picking wild flowers at the time. He spent the night in the Starkville City Jail and detailed the experience in his song entitled, "Starkville City Jail".
The festival runs from October 16-18. Justin is scheduled to play on October 17.
