The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review has a nice little article in this morning's paper.
Justin Townes Earle tried to avoid a music career when he was growing up in Nashville.
His preference was to play soccer professionally. Or become a gangster.
He's not kidding about that.
"I always had a fascination with being some kind of hard-up criminal in a Pretty Boy Floyd kind of way," says Earle, who performs Friday at Diesel Club Lounge, South Side. "Dress fancy, drive a fancy car, be a loudmouth and die young. I had a fascination with that, but luckily I didn't follow through with it."
