WITH NEW CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED ALBUM OUT, EARLE
LOOKS FORWARD TO GETTING BACK TO WORK

Justin Townes Earle has decided to suspend the remaining dates on his tour and enter a rehabilitation facility. Earle is strongly committed to confronting his on-going struggle with addiction and thanks his family, friends and fans for their continued support through this difficult time.

In regards to the misdemeanor charges recently filed in Indianapolis, Earle released the following statement earlier this week: “Unfortunately, reports surfacing online about the incident in Indianapolis are not accurate. I have been advised by counsel that I should not comment on a pending criminal matter, but suffice to say that I am looking forward to having my day in court. I would also like to say that I oppose violence against women in any form.”

Earle looks forward to resuming the tour in support of his critically acclaimed third album, Harlem River Blues, on independent record label Bloodshot Records. The album enters this week at #47 on the Top 200 in overall Soundscan.

I'm still here. I refrained from posting any info on the circumstances surrounding JTE's arrest and the incident at Radio Radio. I wasn't there, didn't see what happened, and didn't feel it was my place to comment on any of it. Not to mention I was out of town and away from the computer for the weekend. I have nothing new to add.

Justin's Fall tour for Harlem River Blues kicked off this weekend in Seattle at the annual Bumbershoot Fesitval. It's was followed the next day by a "secret show" in Ballard, WA where Justin perfomed under the name Alabama Finger Bang. As expected, several reviews and photos have popped up everywhere. Justin Townes Earle, one of Americana's most exciting songwriters, has announced details of a seven-date UK tour including a headline show at London's beautiful Union Chapel venue.

The son of legendary troubadour Steve Earle, Justin was voted the Best New & Emerging Artist at last year's Americana Music Awards and stands at the forefront of this rich vein of new, young Americana musicians filtering into the UK from the States.

Putting the finishing touches to his stunning new album 'Harlem River Blues', Nashville, Tenessee-born Justin Townes Earle will release his fourth new record in the UK on the 20th September through Bloodshot Records. To mark the launch of the album here in the UK, Justin has made the album's title-track available to download as a free Mp3. Fans can grab the track from the following link: www.bloodshotrecords.com/hrbsingle.

Taking to the road in November to showcase his new album, Justin Townes Earle will kick-off his seven-date UK tour in Nottingham on November 1st before stopping at venues in Bristol, Brighton, London, Sheffield, Newcastle and Edinburgh.

It's been exactly one year since Halfway to Jackson made it's debut on the interwebs.

When I started this, I wanted to compile all the live sessions, radio appearances, podcasts, and videos of JTE that were on the web. After I compiled the list, I wanted a place to post them. I took inspiration from my good friend Digger over at the Felice Brothers Take This Bread blog, and Halfway to Jackson was born.

It's been a great year, and I have met several people online and in person that have told me how much they enjoy the blog. I even enlisted one of the friends to help out!

Thanks to everyone who has visited and left content on the blog. Heather and I really do appreciate it!

Here's to another year! I'm sure it will be as great as the first! Thanks for reading!

With summer vacations out of the way, we are back abnd full steam ahead for the Halfway to Jackson Blog. Here's the latest news:

Justin has 3 busted fingers from an incident with glass leaving him with 19 stitches and the inability to play a guitar. Unfortunately, his three dates this weekend (including the Newport Folk Festival) have to be canceled. People are working on getting the Iron Horse show rescheduled for late August. We will have an announcement on that as soon as we can.

In other news, a new live show from Madison, WI has been posted on the Live Music Archive. The recorded show is from the Memorial Union Terrace on July 3. You can download or stream the full show here.
